My doctor prescribed Tretinoin cream for my acne, What can I expect from that!?

This is a potent type of Vitamin A that works deep within the skin to help address and prevent acne.

Obagi’s Tretinoin cream comes in two different concentrations, one with 0.05% and the other with 0.1% strength, is a topical treatment for acne vulgaris and has been clinically proven to improve breakout symptoms and prevent the development of acne.

Follow all instructions for use and dosage from your prescribing physician.

Do not apply to open wounds.

  • After thoroughly cleansing your face at night, wait approximately 20 minutes.
  • Wash and dry your hands, then apply the cream evenly over your entire face (and neck and/or chest if directed).
  • Gently smooth it in until it is absorbed, avoiding eyes and mouth.
  • Wait another 10-15 minutes before applying any other skincare products.

Use 2-3 times per week when beginning treatment; because tretinoin makes your skin more sensitive, use can be gradually increased to daily as the skin tolerance increases.

Using tretinoin will increase sun sensitivity.

Make sure to avoid long exposure to the sun and to use full-spectrum sunscreen daily; do not use UV-light tanning services.

Apply the product at night; retinoid products break down quickly and become less effective with sun exposure.
